Haleema is a trainee solicitor in the Private Client team, where she supports a broad and diverse client base with tailored advice on tax, trusts, and succession planning.
Prior to beginning her training contract, she spent three years as a paralegal within the same department. During this time, she developed significant experience in complex and bespoke estate planning matters, which now underpins her approach to client work.
She frequently advises on and prepares Wills, Codicils, and Lasting Powers of Attorney, giving careful consideration to issues of capacity, validity, and legal construction. She is also experienced in applying for Grants of Probate and Letters of Administration, as well as handling full estate administrations. Her drafting work spans a wide range of wills, including those incorporating complex trust structures, ensuring her clients’ wishes are effectively and securely implemented.
In addition, Haleema assists trustees with the ongoing administration of complex trust arrangements. Her work includes the preparation of deeds of appointment, advancement, variation, and the retirement or appointment of trustees. She is also able to assist with Declarations of Trust.
Haleema graduated with a Law degree from the University of Leicester in 2021 before going on to complete her Master of Laws and the Legal Practice Course at the University of Law. Her first seat as a trainee solicitor was in the Private Client department, followed by seats in Litigation and Property. She has now returned to Private Client to complete the final stage of her training contract.
Outside of work, Haleema has a passion for cinema, with favourite directors including Andrei Tarkovsky, Agnès Varda, Wes Anderson and Akira Kurosawa. She enjoys oil painting, classic literature, and live music - highlights include concerts by Patti Smith, Radiohead, Belle and Sebastian, and the Pixies. A keen runner and tennis enthusiast, she follows the sport closely, both on the court and from the stands. A long-time Rafael Nadal supporter, she now roots for Carlos Alcaraz and Coco Gauff. She also loves to travel, with favourite destinations including anywhere in Italy, the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan (specifically Fairy Meadows National Park) and Yosemite in California.
