We have also introduced a number of family law fixed fee options and fixed fee contract reviews for business clients, so you know exactly what you will be paying from the outset.
Easy To Understand Cost Estimates From The Outset
We will tell you how much your case is likely to cost once we have discussed your needs with you.
We will highlight anything that could potentially increase or decrease these costs (for example, if you are involved in a dispute, it could be more expensive to resolve if both parties fail to reach an agreement through mediation and the case ends up in court) and we will review this estimate on a regular basis.
If anything happens as your case progresses that could significantly increase or decrease your costs we will let you know as soon as possible, and certainly before any additional costs are incurred.
Going to see a solicitor for the first time can be daunting, but it helps to be prepared.
Having the right information with you at your appointment makes it easier for us to start acting on your behalf.
Before we can proceed with your case it is a requirement that we verify your identity and address from original documents. You can find out more about the documents we can accept here. If we have not verified your identity within the last 6 months we will carry out an electronic verification of your identity, the cost of any such search is per person and will be charged to you.
If the amount per individual name is in excess of £10 plus VAT, we will seek your prior agreement.
Our fees are calculated according to the time spent in dealing with the case. This includes meetings we have with you, preparing paperwork, and making and receiving telephone calls. Our charges range from £180 plus VAT an hour for a paralegal to £320 an hour plus VAT for a partner.
You may also need to pay court costs and other expenses, but the likely cost of these will be explained to you at your initial meeting with us.
We offer a 10% discount on our fees for family law, wills, trusts and probate and residential conveyancing for NHS staff, Armed Forces personnel and for the police and fire service. Contact us today for details of our fees, let us know you work for any of the above services and we will apply a 10% discount.
You may be required to provide proof of employment.
