    Head of the Commercial Property

    Lisa is a Partner at Hegarty and Head of the Commercial Property team. She qualified as a solicitor in 2007 and specialises in commercial property and rural land matters including:

    Rural and agricultural land matters:
    • Investigating the extent of a landowner’s land, where the title is either unregistered or registered, according to title deeds and Land Registry records
    • Arranging for estates of land to be transferred/assented to a farming partnership, a relative or in accordance with a deceased person’s will
    • Acting for clients in the registration of their estates
    • Acting for landowners in the grant of option agreements to developers and charges of their land
    • Acting for buyers and sellers of rural land including investigating any existing tenancies of the land
    • Comparing unregistered title deeds, RLR plans and historic Ordnance Survey plans
    • Considering whether mining rights have been reserved to others over a client’s land
    • Acting in the creation of overage agreements
    Landlord and tenant work – acting for landlords and tenants in connection with:
    • Granting, surrendering and assigning leases
    • Deeds of variation of leases
    • Licences to assign
    • Licences for alterations
    Site acquisitions and disposals – acting for developers in connection with:
    • Conditional contracts and option agreements
    • Overage provisions
    • Joint venture agreements
    Business purchases – acting for buyers and sellers of businesses in connection with:
    • Transferring a business’s assets from seller to buyer
    • Assigning the goodwill of a business
    • Assigning any intellectual property rights of a business from seller to buyer
    Acting for lenders in secured lending transactions:
    • Performing legal due diligence
    • Creating security for lenders
    Acting in connection with general property transactions such as:
    • Deeds of release of restrictive covenants
    • Deeds of easement such as rights of way and right to receive services
    • Buying, selling and registering unregistered land
    • Transfers of part

    Outside of work, Lisa enjoys playing the viola whether the music is classical, modern or written by a friend she often has impromptu music ‘jams’ with. Lisa plays the viola in a local orchestra and is always keen to go to a concert. She also enjoys spending family time with her two daughters and their mischievous (but lovable) dog.
