    Hegarty announces appointment of partner

Expanding local law firm Hegarty, based in Peterborough, Stamford and Oakham have announced the appointment of one of its experienced associate solicitors to partner; Joy Plummer joined Hegarty Solicitors in 2014, was promoted to commercial property associate solicitor in April 2016, and has now been appointed a partner.

Joy specialises in commercial and agricultural property law. As a Fellow of the Agricultural Law Association, a member of the Country Land and Business Association and the National Farmers’ Union, Joy has particular expertise in agricultural and rural land matters.

Joy commented: “I am absolutely thrilled to have been made Partner. I have been truly overwhelmed by the congratulatory wishes of family, friends and colleagues at Hegarty – it is with this support, and the honour of such trust and confidence placed in me by the partners, that I assume the mantle of shared responsibility with both solemnity and joy. I look forward to the opportunity to both improve myself and to further enhance the firm’s excellent reputation.”

Hegarty's continuing expansion, a reflection of its consistent service offering  high level expertise across the full range of legal services in Peterborough, Stamford and Oakham, has resulted in the recent relocation of the Oakham office to a new, larger, purpose-built premises.

Richard Hegarty, senior partner at Hegarty, commented: “As an expanding law firm, we are committed to offering clients expertise across a full range of legal services. Joy’s expertise in rural land and property matters is invaluable in continuing to offer our clients high level expertise in this specialised area of law. We would like to congratulate Joy on her well-deserved appointment to partner. Joy’s experience and expertise have been key in the continued success of the firm’s Commercial Property Department.”
