Emma McGrath is a Senior Associate Solicitor working in the Family Law Department.
Emma qualified as a solicitor in 2008.
Emma is an expert in advising clients in respect of the division of family. Emma’s experience means she is often able to give an early indication to her clients as to the likely outcome of their matter. This can often help to avoid the expense and stress associated with Court proceedings. Where Court proceedings cannot be avoided, Emma can often be found in the Family Courts representing her clients.
Emma is a member of Resolution and holds their Accreditation as a Specialist Lawyer in Financial Remedies. As a member of Resolution, Emma has signed up to a Code of Practice that promotes a constructive and non-confrontational approach to family issues. This avoids placing unnecessary stress on families already going through a difficult time and particularly where there are children involved. As well as divorce proceedings, matrimonial finances and Children Act matters, Emma also deals with Separation and Cohabitation, Domestic Abuse, Change of Name Deeds, Statutory Declarations, Cohabitation Agreements, Prenuptial Agreements and other family law matters.
When Emma is not working, she likes to walk her dogs and she also enjoys running marathons, and ultra marathons, with her daughter. During the summer of 2024, she completed a 70 mile endurance run and has signed up to run a 100 mile endurance run in 2025.
