Chris Brown, Family Law Solicitor at Hegarty Solicitors in Stamford has recently been recognised by the UK’s leading family law group – Resolution.
Chris has gained Resolution accredited specialist status as a Specialist in Complex Financial and Property matters (medium to low income households) and Complex Financial and Property matters (high income households and substantial assets).
Chris joined Hegarty Solicitors in 2012 after studying law at both London South Bank and De Montfort University in Leicester, qualifying in 2009. Chris specialises in advising and assisting clients in relation to the division of assets and resources when a marriage breaks down and financial claims arising between couples who were not married.
Chris is the only solicitor in Stamford to hold Resolution accreditation in these specialisms. Chris commented “As a member of Resolution, I am part of a national group of family lawyers committed to the non-confrontational resolution of family disputes, always considering the best interests of children and the needs of the whole family.”
The scheme was originally set up in 1999 and is designed to help people who are facing family breakdown to make an informed choice when deciding which lawyer to appoint.
To become a Resolution accredited specialist, lawyers have to agree to uphold the Resolution Code of Practice and to have passed a written test demonstrating a breadth of knowledge of family law issues and specialist knowledge in at least two areas of family law.
Resolution is an association of over 6500 members who are committed to promoting a non-confrontational atmosphere in which family law matters are dealt with in a sensitive, constructive and cost-effective way. It sets high standards of good practice in family law and runs an accreditation scheme for specialist family lawyers.
Resolution members follow a Code of Practice that promotes a non-confrontational approach to family problems. Members encourage solutions that consider the needs of the whole family and in particular the best interests of children.
